Free Fall & Terminal Velocity
As the person falls they accelerate due to their net force down. As their velocity increases the air friction force increases untill it is equal and opposite to their weight force. Now the net force is zero and they have reached a Terminal Velocity (constant velocity). Their velocity can now not change.
